How can you prove that your life does not exist on a "holowdeck", or in a giant "Quest game"? The objects you observe in the distance, might be artificially generated images; and when you approach them, they materialize into solids of which you can interact. In fact everything around you doesn't become "real" (which ever way you may define it), until it reaches the edge of the "spotlight", of which holds your consciousness. You are in fact a naive child, looking in at the world through a cold, foggy window. On the other side of this window, lives the rest of society living in clear and perfect harmony. You have yet to find a way in. |
