Just spoke with an old friend (fellow musician) that is grieving from the loss of his mother. As you know, I lost my father a number of years ago. Thinking back, this is what came to my mind as I was speaking to him about how I processed the loss of my father. I hope it will be of illumination to someone else. These words just flowed from me naturally without thought. Sometimes the best things come that way. Now after all that build-up, the short two-line poem regarding his acute pain: "Throw it in music and bury the emotion in art. Process it from a distance then hold it close to your heart." |
